Services

Linnarc provides knowledge and understanding of architecture and urban planning. This is done in several ways and for a variety of clients, based on the conviction that our knowledge of the built environment is fundamental to our chances for maintaining and developing it.

Below follows a brief description of my different services.

GIS

Geographic Information Systems make it possible to visualize data in maps and illustrations. It is an area of knowledge that is becoming increasingly important for urban and community planning and is developing at a high rate.

I have ten years experience in GIS and the work associated with it – handling data and graphical processing to make results readable. Among other things, I have experience in spatial analysis and space syntax, making it possible to measure how the street network is configured and identify how well individual streets are connected to the rest of the urban street grid.

Lectures

Throughout my career, I have given lectures about architecture. This goes back to my first job as a teaching assistant at the shool of architecture. From that point on, I have given lectures in various contexts, to a broad spectrum of audiences.

Among the clients are the real estate event Business Arena, the Gothenburg Book Fair, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences IVA, Stockholms byggnadsförening and Chalmers. In addition, I have lectured for clients and guests in connection with workshops and events.

Photography

From the moment I entered the field of Architecture as a student, the camera has been my companion and an essential personal tool. As my field of interest and assignments have gravitated towards urban planning and design, my photography has followed along. Capturing and communicating space and light are what it is all about.

Architecture tours

The best way to experience architecture is on site, in the real world. I have conducted architecture tours in Gothenburg and Copenhagen, in both historical contexts and recent and ongoing developments. Usually, these tours are made on foot or by bicycle, occassionally by bus. Access to wireless listening devices makes it easy to follow the presentations.
